About Me, Bridgette Sunman.

I inspire individuals and businesses to navigate change, while boosting wellbeing.

People often ask… “Bridgette, what do you really do?” Increasingly I find job titles don’t actually mean a lot to my potential clients: Transition or Life Coach, Business Change Communications Specialist, Freelance Consultant, Wellbeing Professional…  the people I help often don’t know what those roles really involve.

I help you take the stress out of change, reducing fear and anxiety. Inspiring you to feel well-resourced. Equipping you with approaches, techniques and skills to help you manage relentless change.

Hearing clients say how much their life has changed for the better since working with me feels good. Seeing people grow into new more happy and successful versions of themselves is really satisfying. Watching my clients develop, learn, becoming stronger, more resilient, clear, focused and confident about the direction they want to move is rewarding. Helping them establish lasting wellbeing.

Life can be shorter than we think, I’ve witnessed friends and family ‘checking-out’ way too early. Postponing their life purpose only to find it’s too late. Helping others living their life purpose gives me real purpose. Living and working in change, studying life transitions has influenced who I am. Things haven’t always gone to plan, there have been some diversions, a few speed bumps and lots of potholes along the way. They’ve helped me learn more about who I am, my values and my purpose. Enabling me to get really clear about what motivates and inspires me.

I know that having time to explore and being fully heard are powerful. I’ve learnt that many of the obstacles in my life, that at the time seemed immovable, helped me question and understand failure. They’ve helped me. Many have paved the way to greater awareness, clarity and action.

I’m passionate about inspiring people to navigate change and boost their wellbeing. I motivate them to get unstuck, retooled and refocused. Clients often tell me my coaching has helped them feel more energised, much happier in themselves, increased their resilience, able to better manage relentless change and more positive about their relationships.

‘I help individuals and businesses develop lasting wellbeing cultures that result in less absenteeism and less presenteeism. And that’s where I hope I can help you.’

Bridgette has helped me learn to look at what I want from life. Her compassion and warmth have helped me establish a lasting sense of gratitude and contentment. Which after trauma, had felt out of reach… even following years of expensive and lengthy therapy. Not only is Bridgette an awesome coach and a great yoga teacher, she brings so much more. Her unique experience of living and working with cultural change. Together with the fearless way she helps me navigate tough terrain, while keeping me accountable.

My journey in time… Bridgette Sunman

1986-1991

I started in-house in Personnel (as it was called then) for a Nuclear Energy company in the South West. Then moved to cover maternity leave for the Public Relations Officer. Face to face, external and internal relations, Annual Cocktail Party for the Site Director, site visits…

1992-1999

I moved to West Cumbria to join the ‘other’ major Nuclear Energy company at the time, BNFL! Massive life transition for me, everything I owned crammed into a hire van and excited to be starting a new life in the North.  Those were the gritty frontline-PR days… protesters at the gate and on the beach, TV crews arriving unannounced to vox-pop the public at the Visitors Centre, briefing and ‘minding’ senior staff for media interviews, hosting VIP’s including overseas dignitaries and covering for the Washington DC Press Officer. Then into internal communications, secondment to Plymouth for a year to manage communications for a nationally-significant defence project.

1999-2000

Relocated to Gloucestershire. Moved out of in-house and energy sector to try a few South West Marketing and PR agencies as an Account Manager. Hit the ground running with fast-paced pitching to a range of businesses, small and large.

2000-2005

Took a few management steps, building and managing several small communications teams. Delivering communications strategy and plans to support organisational change programmes for a small local financial services company and then onto work for Zurich in Swindon.

2005-present

Big leap to freelance and co-created a limited company with my husband. Working freelance to help managers, directors and leaders in the financial services, environment and FMCG sectors deliver effective communications around change. In 2012 I qualified as a coach and mentor started to use these skills to add value to behaviour and culture change programmes. Qualified as a yoga teacher in 2018. Created the vision for B Active for Change in 2019: Helping individuals and businesses navigate change, while maintaining wellbeing culture.

I currently live in Stroud, Gloucestershire and work with local, regional and national clients for their unique wellbeing, life and mindset coaching needs.

Not ready to commit to coaching yet?

Some of my coaching clients really benefit from getting to know themselves better first, together with getting to know me. They’ve done this by starting regular yoga classes with me first. This gives them a good insight into how I am, while delivering a multitude of benefits for their mind and body.
